WEST END, NC - The Carolinas Golf Association has received many inquiries since 2010 about our stance and plans to implement the recommended USGA’s “Grooves Rule” at CGA championships and tournaments in 2014. After lengthy discussions exploring both the positives and negatives of this rule, the CGA Executive Committee has decided NOT to implement the recommended “Grooves Rule” or condition of competition at any of our 2014 championships or tournaments.

Registration is now available for the 33rd Carolinas Mid-Amateur Championship. Entries close on March 12. Championship will be played April 12-14 at Raleigh Country Club in Raleigh, NC. Championship is open to male amateurs who are at least 30 years old, have a maximum 5.4 handicap index at CGA member club and is a resident of North Carolina or South Carolina. The Carolinas Golf Association will host a series of Tournament Pairing Program (TPP) training seminar at various locations throughout the Carolinas. The 15 scheduled seminars are aimed at golf professionals and club officials seeking additional training on the TPP tournament software program.
