WEST END, NC (7/23/14) -- The 13th Mid-Atlantic Challenge Junior Girls' Team Matches will be held at The Clubs at Olde Mill in Laurel Forks, VA on July 26-27, 2014.
This annual team match competition is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association in conjunction with the Virginia and Maryland State Golf Associations. The Challenge is an invitation-only event pitting top junior girls from North Carolina and South Carolina against a team from Virginia and Maryland. This year the Virginia-Maryland team will be represented by players only from Virginia as the Maryland Golf Association has a conflicting event. Trailing by two points after Saturday's opening day four-ball matches, the Virginia-Maryland team registered a three point (5½-2½) victory in Sunday singles matches to claim the crown. Carolinas leads the all-time series, 8-3-1.
