Kristina Blaylock of Cary, NC shot a 4-under par round of to earn medalist honors and one of seven available spots to advance to the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship that will be held October 5-10, 2013 at Biltmore Forest Country Club in nearby Asheville, NC.
Other qualifiers include 2012 CGA Women’s Player of the Year, Dawn Woodard of Greer, SC; Julie Streng of Greensboro, NC; Kim Briele of New Bern, NC; Patty Moore of Charlotte, NC and Staci Creech of Chapel Hill, NC. The last available spot was earned by Angela Stewart of Greenville, NC after a five hole playoff.
The U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship is for women 25 years of age or older. Players must have a USGA handicap index of 9.4 or less. This sectional qualifier was one of 24 held throughout the country and was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) on behalf of the United States Golf Association (USGA).
