Play suspended due to heavy storms; will restart at 7:15 am
Due to heavy storms and rain in the
Cary, NC area, the stroke play qualifying of the 46th NC Junior
Championship was suspended at 6:40 pm. Play will resume on Wednesday
morning at 7:15 am.
Before the rain delay, Keegan Hoff of
Charlotte, NC shot a seven under par 65 to take the lead in the qualifying
round. Hoff a recent high school graduate who will begin his college
career at University of Richmond this August finished the front nine with three
straight birdies for a five under par 31. His lone bogey of the day was
on the par four tenth hole. Dong-Jun Kim of Waxhaw, NC is in second place
after a round of four under 68. Three are tied for third place at 69 that
includes Austin Inman of Leland, NC, Benjamin Griffin of Chapel Hill, NC and
Doc Redman of Raleigh, NC.
21 junior golfers have not yet finished their qualifying round. The top 64 will advance to match play.
If
you are still on the golf course and said you were coming back tomorrow
morning, please be at the range at 7 am ready to go onto the golf course to
finish your round. We will blow the horn to restart at 7:15 am.
Range will open at 6:30 am.
If you shot 75 or better, we hope to start matches at 9 am off #1, but we will
not know the starting times until we finish the stroke play portion.
Please be on site ready to play at 9 am.
If you shot 75, 76 or 77, you need to be ready on site for a playoff by 8:15
am.
This annual junior championship is conducted
by the Carolinas Golf Association.
