US Open Local Qualifying - River Landing
WALLACE, N.C. (May 12, 2022) -- Final results from U.S. Open Local Qualifying at River Landing Country Club’s River Course in Wallace, N.C. on Thursday, Monday, May 12, 2022. (6,911 yards, par 36-36--72).
Five qualifying spots and two alternate spots were available at this qualifying site.
Joshua Rackley of Wilmington, N.C. earned medalist honors with a round of five-under-par 67. Thomas Bass of Wilmington, N.C. shot four-under-par 68, and Ryan Jahr of Ocean Isle Beach and Holden Strickland of Littleton, N.C. shot three-under-par 69 to claim qualifying positions. Six players shot one-under-par 71 and headed to playoff for the final qualifying spot and two alternate spots. Blake Taylor of Wilmington, N.C. and Randall Hudson of New Bern, N.C. birdied the first playoff hole and played on for the final qualifying spot. Taylor went on to par the second and third playoff hole to earn the final qualifying position and Hudson will be the first alternate. Jason Widener of Chapel Hill, N.C. earned the second alternate position over Dylan Ray of East Bend, N.C., Brian Mull of Wilmington, N.C. and Ricky Stout of Swansboro, N.C.
The qualifiers will advance to Final Qualifying on May 23 or June 6. The 122nd U.S. Open Championship will be played at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts from June 16-19, 2022.
