U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifying Results - CC of Salisbury
SALISBURY, N.C. (June 16, 2021) -- Final results from U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifying at the Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury, N.C. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 (6,720 yards, par 35-36--71).
Five qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.
Gene Ziegler of Florence, S.C. and Major Lenning of Simpsonville, S.C. shared medalist honors with a score of two-under-par 69. Four players finished at even-par 71 and headed to a playoff to determine the final three qualifiers and the first alternate. Braeden Barnett of Galivants Ferry, S.C., Ryan Curran of Waxhaw, N.C. and Smith Summerlin of Raleigh, N.C. earned the final three qualifying spots. Maddox Whittington of Lenoir, N.C. finished as the first alternate. Three players shot one-over-par 72 and played off for the second alternate position. Gustavo Rangel of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico won the playoff with a birdie on the first playoff hole over Broderick Perry of Trinity, N.C. and Ryan Dunn of Waxhaw, N.C.
The qualifiers will advance to play at the championship at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, N.C. from July 19-24, 2021.
This USGA Qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association, on behalf of the United States Golf Association.
