GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 29, 2019) -- Final results from 2019 U.S. Women's Open Qualifying at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. on Monday, April 29, 2019 (6387 yards, par 36-36--72, Course/Slope rating: 75.9/144).

Jennifer Kupcho of West Minster, C.O. fired a 3-under-par 69 in the second round to finish at 3-under-par 141 overall and claim Medalist honors at the U.S. Women's Open qualifier at Starmount Forest Country Club. Kupcho is the recent winner of the Augusta National Women's Amateur and a standout at Wake Forest University. Also qualifying was Gina Kim of Chapel Hill, N.C. Kim outlasted Clemson Women's Golf Associate Head Coach Heather Young of Ft. Worth, T.X. in a one-hole playoff for the final qualifying spot.

Heather Young is the first alternate. Emilia Migliaccio of Cary, N.C. is the second alternate.

Two qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.

The championship proper will be held at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. on May 31-June 2, 2019.

This qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.

The CGF has distributed nearly $2,000,000 since 1977 to benefit Carolinas' golf initiatives including junior and women's programs.
