Harvey Back to CGA Golf at Club Champ.

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -- The 38th Carolinas Club Championship will be played on the Ross course at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. on Monday, April 27.

After grinding away for a week at The Masters earlier this month, Scott Harvey put his clubs away for a while. "I'm going to get a massage... and take a few days off from golf," Harvey said afterward. "I'm definitely not going to do anything for about a week." Representing the host club, four-time CGA Player of the Year Harvey will partner with Sedgefield Country Club's head golf professional, Eric Ferguson (pictured 1st from left).

The four-ball format of this championship comes at a good time for Harvey. The first week of May, he and Todd Mitchell of Bloomington, Ill. will partner in the inaugural U.S. Four-Ball Championship at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, California. They were medalists at their qualifier, shooting 64.         

2014 champion, Wakefield Plantation head golf professional Paul Dickens is in the field to defend his title with a new amateur partner, Bill Reduzzi.

Also in the field are last year's runner-up teams: representing Bryan Park Golf Club, amateurs Brad Buxton and Seth Hall; and from Treyburn Country Club, professional Tag Wylie and amateur Tim Myers. Past champions competing this year include: 2011 team of  Brian Kittler and Bill Smith (Raleigh Country Club);  two-time champion (2007 & 2012) with different partners from Alamance Country Club, Adam McLaughlin; and 2010 champs Rick Brannon and Pete Seagroves, III (Chapel Hill Country Club). 

This is the second consecutive year that the Carolinas Club Championship will be held on the Ross course. A great friend to the Carolinas Golf Association, this marks the 17th CGA championship hosted by a Sedgefield Country Club course. Sedgefield was the first home to the Greater Greensboro Open golf tournament when it started in 1938, alternating with Starmount Country Club until 1961, and hosting every year until 1976. The tournament returned to Sedgefield in 2008 with the name Wyndham Championship.   

The Carolinas Club Championship format is 18 holes of four-ball stroke play. Teams can be comprised of: a) A male or female golf professional who is a member of the club’s golf professional staff employed by a CGA Member Club and a male or female amateur golfer who is a member in good standing of the same CGA Member Club. b) Two amateur golfers, male or female, who are members in good standing of the same CGA Member Club. Only two team entries is allowed per member club. Entry is open to any male or female legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina who has reached their 13th birthday by April 27, 2015.
