CAMDEN, S.C. – Quarterfinal and semifinal match play results of the 64th Carolinas Four-Ball Championship hosted by Camden Country Club in Camden, S.C. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 (6455 yards, par 35-35—70, 71.6/128).
Number two seed Zachary Martin - John Grimes of Pinehurst, N.C. will face the 21st seed father-son duo of Bryson Nimmer (son) – Tony Nimmer (father) of Bluffton, S.C. in the 18-hole championship match at 8:00am on Sunday at Camden Country Club.
Martin, a rising junior at the University of North Carolina, and Grimes, a rising senior at Greensboro College, defeated fellow collegians Jackson Moore of Isle of Palms, S.C. - Shane Rogan of Columbia, S.C. (College of Charleston) 2 up in the morning quarterfinals. Then needed 17 holes to defeat 2006 champion Robert Dargan – David Dargan of Columbia, S.C. by a 2 and 1 score in the semifinals.
The Nimmer’s cruised through the quarterfinals with a decisive 5 and 4 victory over Dustin Moore of Greensboro, N.C. – Blair Bowland of Burlington, N.C. Taking a 1 up lead on the first hole, the Nimmer’s never trailed in their semifinal matchup with former East Carolina teammates Jacob Colley of Holly Springs, N.C. – Conner Sock of High Point, N.C. finally closing them out with a 2 and 1 win.
Tony Nimmer, a turf farm owner, is competing in the Carolinas Four-Ball for the first time in 30 years and playing with son Bryson for the first time in a four-ball competition. The younger Nimmer will play collegiate golf for the Clemson Tigers this coming fall. They are trying to become the first father-son team to win the Carolinas Four-Ball Championship.

The Carolinas Four-Ball Championship is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 13th birthday by the first day of the championship, is a resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club.
