Taylor and Yow Hold One-Stroke Lead After First Round of Carolinas Super Senior Four-Ball Championship
LAKE WYLIE, SC – First round results of the 3rd Carolinas Super Senior Four-Ball Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by River Hills Country Club in Lake, Wylie, S.C. on Tuesday, October 15, 2014 (6200 yards, par 36-36—72, 71.0/135).
Partners Roger Taylor of Conover, N.C. and Bob Yow of Clinton, N.C. are one shot clear of the field after firing a first round three-under par 69. Taylor and Yow carded five birdies to go along with two bogeys on the day. The only team to ever win the Carolinas Super Senior Four-Ball Championship, partners Jim Pridgen of Jamestown, N.C. and Ernie Newton of Wallburg, N.C. sits sit one shot back of the lead after firing a two-under par 70. Six teams finished the day in red numbers, and 18 teams are within four shots of the lead.

Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 65th birthday by October 15, is a legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club.
The Carolinas Super Senior Four-Ball Championship is one of 40 championships conducted annually by the Carolinas Golf Association, which is in its 105th year of serving amateur golf in the Carolinas.
