Jim Pearson Takes Two Shot Lead Heading Into NC Senior Final Round
KINSTON, NC - Second round results of the 29th North Carolina Senior Amateur Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Kinston Country Club in Kinston, NC on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 (6317 yards, par 36-35—71, 71.0/134).
Jim Pearson of Charlotte, NC carded a bogey-free four-under 67 in the second round to take a two shot lead at 137 heading into the final round at Kinston Country Club.
Six-time champion, Paul Simson of Raleigh, NC, posted a one-over par 72 and stands alone in a tie for sixth place at 141.
Defending champion Russ Perry of Winston-Salem, NC posted a one-over par 72 and is currently in ninth place.
Round one leader Steve Sharpe of Greensboro, NC shot a 78 to fall back into a tie for 10th place at 144.
The cut line fell at 154 with 68 players qualifying for the final round. Round 3 starting times are posted below.
