WEST END, N.C. - The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) has announced its 2013 schedule of championships and tournaments. The CGA is entering its 104th year of conducting state and regional championships for amateur golfers.

This year the CGA will conduct 237 tournaments including: 41 championships, 41 CGA championship qualifiers, 15 USGA national championship qualifiers, five team match events, 99 one-day tournaments and 46 Tarheel Youth Golf Association and junior invitational events.

“The Reunion”, a golf and social event to benefit the Carolinas Golf Foundation, will take place October 13-14, 2013 at the Pine Needles Resort in Southern Pines, NC. The announcement was made by the Carolinas Golf Foundation, in conjunction with the Carolinas Golf Association. The CGF is a not-for-profit entity that supports a variety of Carolinas-based golf initiatives including many grow-the-game programs, turfgrass scholarships and youth development.

Pinehurst , N.C. – Final results of the 19th Tar Heel Cup Matches hosted by The Country Club of North Carolina (Cardinal) in Pinehurst, NC on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 (6980 yards, par 72).

Eight North Carolina amateur golfers squared off against eight North Carolina PGA Professionals in the 19th Tar Heel Cup Matches.  The two day match play event concluded on Tuesday at the Country Club of North Carolina (Cardinal Course).

WEST END, NC - The Carolinas Golf Association has received many inquiries since 2010 about our stance and plans to implement the recommended USGA’s “Grooves Rule” at CGA championships and tournaments in 2014. After lengthy discussions exploring both the positives and negatives of this rule, the CGA Executive Committee has decided NOT to implement the recommended “Grooves Rule” or condition of competition at any of our 2014 championships or tournaments.
