                                                               Thursday’s Match Play Results

Roaring Gap, NC—Austin Inman of Wilmington, NC , the defending NC Junior Boys’ champion, put up a strong defense of his title, but fell in the quarter-finals to Alex Smalley of Wake Forest, NC, 7 and 6 on the Donald Ross designed course at Roaring Gap Club in Roaring Gap, NC. Smalley will face off Nicholas Lyerly of Salisbury, NC in the first semi-finals match on Friday morning at 8 am. Lyerly defeated Will Simmons of Charlotte, NC on the first extra hole of a see saw match. In the other semi-final match, Anthony Perrino of Mooresville, NC will play Patrick Cover of Huntersville, NC in the 8:10 match. Perrino defeated Harrison Frye of High Point 5 and 4. Cover advanced by beating Davis Richards of China Grove, NC 1 up.

This annual junior championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
