SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (April 26, 2018) -- The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) will conduct the 15th North Carolina Senior Women's Amateur Championship from April 30 - May 1, 2018 at the Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury, N.C.

Defending champion Pat Brogden of Garner made a memorable mark on North Carolina Senior Women's history last year, posting the tournament low round of four-under 68 to set a championship scoring record at two-under 142. A four-time N.C. Senior Women's champ (2007, 2010, 2012, 2017), Brogden has finished runner-up in this event four times. She looks to capture her 13th overall CGA title.

Patty Moore of Charlotte, a 19-time CGA champion, has won this event four times (2004, 2008, 2014, 2016).

2016 Carolinas Senior Women's Player of the Year Kim Briele of New Bern. Briele won this event in 2015 and captured the 2016 Carolinas Senior Women's Amateur.

Angela Stewart of Greenville, the 2011 champion, finished runner-up in 2015 and tied for third last year.
The North Carolina Senior Women's Amateur Championship began in 2004. This championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play with a Championship division and a Carolinas division (shorter course). The competition includes gross and net scores and prizes are given for gross and net winners in each flight. Players are pre-flighted within their division based on Handicap Index®. The champion of the tournament will be named from the Championship Division only. Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who has reached her 50th birthday by April 30, 2018, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index®.

Monday, April 30: Round 1. 18 holes of stroke play (tee times).
Tuesday, May 1: Final Round. 18 holes of stroke play (shotgun). Awards ceremony and luncheon immediately following play.
