Dole Shoots 69 to Earn Medalist Honors

Fuquay-Varina  , NC  – Stroke play qualifying results of the 17^th North Carolina Junior Girls Championship hosted by Bentwinds Country Club on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.  Par 36-36—72  5876 yards.

Evelyn Dole of Raleigh, NC fired a 3-under par 69 to earn medalist honors in the stroke play qualifying portion of the championship.  Dole, 18 who will attend University of Virginia in the fall, carded six birdies and three bogeys.  “I hit my irons pretty good today,” Dole said.  “I usually always had a chance at birdie.”  Dole will be seeded #2 for match play.

The cut line fell at 88 and Caroline Cahill of Wilmington, NC earned the last qualifying spot on the second playoff hole.  Cahill will face off against the defending champion, Isabella Rusher of Salisbury, NC.
