Congratulations to Patrick Brady of Reidsville, N.C. + Steve Kidd of Liberty, N.C. on taking home the 56th Carolinas Senior Four-Ball Championship from Mimosa Hills Golf & Country Club in Morganton, N.C. With three beautiful days in the mountain, the team shot rounds of 67-63-64 for a three-day total of 194, 22-under to bring home the win by four strokes.

In Round 1, Brady + Kidd carded a bogey-free scorecard with five birdies together, finishing at 5-under, 67 for the day. This put them three strokes back from Round 1 leaders and Defending Champions Jeff Jamieson + David Glabicki of Cary, N.C. who lead the pack at 8-under.

In Round 2, Brady + Kidd climbed the leaderboard with an impressive round of 63, 9-under. With 10 collective birdies in the second round, the team rose to the top spot on the leaderboard with a two-day total of 14-under-par to head into the Final Round with a three stroke over a few other teams behind them at 11-under.

When asked what they felt like they did well this week to put them in a good position heading into the Final Round, Brady said, “Both of us putted extremely well all week. We hit the ball pretty well but we definitely putted extraordinarily well.”

On Thursday during the Final Round, Brady + Kidd started strong with four birdies in their first five holes. At the turn, the duo was 20-under, holding a five-stroke lead over three teams tied for second. After birdies on holes 12 and 14, Brady + Kidd remained a comfortable distance from the other teams. The team was at 22-under through 15 holes with a four-stroke lead, making their final few holes a comfortable finish.

Regarding how it was playing in a team together, Brady shared, “We’ve played a lot of golf together, so we know each other’s game very well. But we’ve played in a lot of team events together so it was fun, and when you play well it makes it extra fun.”

Kidd said “it feels really good” to win this event. Brady won this championship back in 2019, and shared “I’ve actually won it before with Steve Harwell, but any time you win a CGA event it’s a pretty neat thing.”

Geno Berchiatti of Greenville, S.C. + Eddie Hargett of Blythewood, S.C. (Past Champions, 2022) along with Defending Champions Jamieson + Glabicki finished tied for second at a three-day total of 198, 18-under.

The Carolinas Golf Association would like the thank Jimmy Piercy, Head Golf Professional and his staff, Dan Winters, Golf Course Superintendent and his staff, Tom Schmitt, Food and Beverage Director and his staff, and the rest of the staff of Mimosa Hills Golf & Country Club for hosting this event.
