SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (July 7, 2021) -- Final results from 2021 U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifying at Carolina Trace Country Club (Lake) in Sanford, N.C. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 (6,283 yards, par 36-36--72, Course/Slope rating: 78.3/150).

Caroline Craig of Sautee Nacoochee, G.A. earned Medalist honors at the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier hosted by Carolina Trace Country Club after firing a 3-under-par 69. Craig was the only player in the field in red numbers. Craig's round consisted of only two bogeys leveled against five birdies and she was able to avoid big numbers on the treacherous Lake course at Carolina Trace CC. Craig is a rising junior at the University of Georgia and will be competing in her first U.S. Women's Amateur Championship.

Five Carolinians posted even-par 72 to claim the five remaining qualifying spots. Headed to the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship are Katherine Schuster of Harbinger, N.C.; Anna Morgan of Spartanburg, S.C.; Emma Schimpf of Charleston, S.C.; Emily Hawkins of Lexington, N.C.; and Riley Hamilton of Reidsville, N.C.

After a two-hole playoff, Ryan Flynn of Truckee, C.A. claimed the first alternate position and Pin-Wen Lu of Taipei claimed the second alternate position. Both players recorded a 1-over-par 73.

Six qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.

The championship proper will be held at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y. on August 2-8, 2021.

This qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers.
