Fighting tough weather all afternoon, the opening round of the 13th Carolinas Super Senior Championship was able to be completed just before darkness descended onto the Country Club of South Carolina.
Lennie Barton of Raleigh, N.C. took an early lead in the 65+ Division after firing off a 3-under-par, 69 in the opening round. He leads Paul Simson of Raleigh, N.C. John Dennis of Greenville, S.C. and Joe Hendrick of Chesterfield, S.C. by just one shot, as they sit in a three-way-tie for second position at 2-under-par, 70.
