Hunt Wins the Jimmy Anderson Boys'
JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (June 2, 2020) -- Final results of the 12th Jimmy Anderson Boys’ Junior Invitational at Jacksonville Country Club in Jacksonville, N.C. on June 2, 2020.

Adam Hunt of Columbia, S.C. kicked off the CGA championship season in style with a record-setting score of 11-under-par, 133 total at the 12th Jimmy Anderson Boys’ Junior Invitational. The previous scoring record for the Jimmy Anderson Boys’ Junior Invitational was 6-under-par.
Hunt started the day with a three-shot cushion over his nearest competitor but he didn’t rest on the lead. He continued his charge on day two firing the low score of the day for the second round in a row. He would ultimately finish the championship eight shots ahead of second place.
Tommy Lamb of Cary, N.C. and Trey Crenshaw of Lancaster, S.C. finished tied for second place after rounds of 1-under-par, 71 and even par, 72 respectively. Both players finished the event at 3-under-par, 141 total.
Clayson Good of Durham, N.C., who finished the championship at 2-under-par, 142 total and Josh Buxbaum of Wake Forest, N.C. who finished at 1-under-par, 143 were the only other players to shoot under-par for the event.
The defending champion, Mason Tucker of Lancaster, S.C., along with Sam Davidson of Asheboro, N.C. and Oliver Rotermund of Charleston, S.C. finished tied for sixth place at even par, 144 total.
“This is always one of our most popular, most competitive and most fun junior events each year and I’m really happy that we were able to conduct it in a safe manor for all our participants,” said CGA Director of Youth Development, Jason Cox. “Adam’s play this week was amazing to watch and is a testament to the strength of field the Jimmy Anderson continues to see year in, year out. The CGA would like to thank all the players and parents for their cooperation with the new protocols. Everyone did a great job and we are so grateful to be back playing golf tournaments.”
