Round One Results of the Carolinas Women's Club Team
GREENSBORO, N.C. (October 29, 2019) – First round results of the 3rd Carolinas Women's Club Team Championship at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro N.C. on October 29, 2019.

A cool, fall day made for a beautiful setting and good scoring conditions as 16 teams teed it up at the historic Starmount Forest Country Club for round one of the 3rd Carolinas Women’s Club Team Championship. Two teams are tied at the top of the Championship Division leaderboard including the defending champions, Pinehurst Country Club and last year’s runners-up, Cowan’s Ford Country Club.
Both teams finished with an aggregate score of 10-under-par, 134 in round one. The first round format was two-woman captain’s choice where each club’s score is the aggregate total of the two, two-woman sides.
Pinehurst CC’s Patty Moore and Donna Tanner and Cowan’s Ford CC’s June Wang and Kathy Binkley shot the low score in the Championship Division with 6-under-par, 66’s. Their teammates, Sally Means and Kendra Muir representing Pinehurst CC and Peg Brady and Robbie Knotts representing Cowan’s Ford CC, both shot 4-under-par, 68’s.
Two teams are also tied at the top of the Carolinas Division leaderboard (net scores only). Pinehurst CC (B) and Pine Needles Resort both shot 17-under-par, 127 in round one. The side of Sue McDermott and Debbie Hockman representing Pinehurst CC (B) Team fired the low round of the day in the Carolinas Division with a 10-under-par, 62.
Round two’s format will be four-ball stroke play. Teams in the Carolinas Division will be flighted based on 36-hole club team scores.
