US Women's Mid-Am Qualifying Results - Pine Island CC

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (August 1, 2019) -- Final results from 2019 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Qualifying at Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. on Thursday, August 1, 2019. 

Courtney Stiles of Pinehurst, N.C. fired an even par, 72 to claim medalist honors at the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Qualifier at Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. This will be the third year in a row that Stiles has successfully qualified for this particular USGA Championship.

“This was my first time playing Pine Island and I really enjoyed the course layout and it was nice to have a few putts drop,” said Stiles. “We had a great group of girls playing today so I knew we had to just stay patient all day. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to play again in the mid-am.”

Katie Kirk of Winterville, N.C. and Michelle Jarman of Wilmington, N.C. both fired rounds of 1-over-par, 73 to secure their spots.

Kim Benedict of Bonita Springs, FL and Katie Rose Higgins of Charlotte, N.C. were the last two players to secure their spot in the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur firing rounds of 3-over-par, 75 and 4-over-par, 76, respectively.

Five qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.

The championship proper will be held at Forest Highlands Golf Club in Flagstaff, A.Z. on September 14-19, 2019

This qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.
