DURHAM, NC (October 2, 2017) -- First round results of the 6th Carolinas Super Senior Four-Ball Championship hosted by Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, NC on Monday, October 2, 2017 (Championship Division: 6,200 yards, Par 36-36--72, 70+ Division: 5,650 yards, par 36-36--72).

Three teams sit atop the Championship Division in the 6th Carolinas Super Senior Four-Ball Championship after round one. Partners Don Detweiler of Raleigh, NC – Paul Simson of Raleigh, NC join Ron Carpenter of Creedmoor, NC – Garrett Garland of Huntersville, NC, and Robert Desjardins from Mathews, NC – Bill Boles from Wilson, NC all shot seven-under par 65 at Old Chatham Golf Club. The three teams sit two shots clear of the field, but 17 teams sit within four shots of the lead. In the 70+ Division, Gary Schatz of Fort Mill, SC – John Walters of Charlotte, NC lead by two shots in their division after shooting an eight-under par 64.
The final round is set for a 10:00 am shotgun start on Tuesday morning.
Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 65th birthday by October 2, 2017, and is a legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club.
