Bertinotti made an eagle on the par-5 sixth, four birdies, and just one bogey in the final round. However, a double-bogey on the par-4 15th brought his lead down to 3-under going into the final three holes. "The wind was strolling all day long. I was trying to hit the middle of the green and take my bogey, but it rolled all the way down, but I hit a great shot on the next one." After composing himself, Bertinotti made two birdies on par-4 16th and par-5 18th to seal the victory.
For Bertinottti, winning on your home course just means more. "I have been here for four year. All the people around here are very nice to me and welcome me all the time, so it is something big to win on your home course."
Brett McLamb, of Coats, N.C., finished second at six-under par 210 overall, three-under 69 in the final round. Quinn Tardif of Charlotte, N.C. finished third at 3-under 213 overall, 2-over 74 in the final round. Bertinotti, McLamb, and Tardif were the only players to break par on the final day.
