WALLACE, N.C. (May 19, 2016) -- Final results from U.S. Open Championship Local Qualifying hosted by River Landing in Wallace, N.C. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 (6911 yards, par 36-36--72, Course/Slope Rating:73.8/141).
Five qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.
Joshua Brock of Wilmington, N.C. shot seven-under-par 65 to earn medalist. Michael Hocker of Durham, N.C., shot 67 to qualify. Zachary Edmondson of Morrisville, N.C., Dalton Ward of Sumter, S.C. and Wesley Conover of Holly Springs, N.C. all qualified after shooting 69.
Corey Nagy of Charlotte, N.C. and Dylan Bedy of Charlotte, N.C. are the alternates.
Sectional qualifying, conducted over 36 holes, will be held on Monday, June 6, at 10 sites in the U.S. For the 12th consecutive year, Japan and England will host international sectional qualifying, scheduled for May 23 and May 30, respectively.
This qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.
