Whispering Pines, NC – First round results of the 7th Carolinas Junior Girls 15 & Under Championship hosted by the Country Club of Whispering Pines on Monday, July 8, 2013.

In the junior division, defending champion, 12-year-old Anna McDonald also of Hickory, NC, shot a four-over 76 and holds a nine shot lead over 12-year old Rachel Kuehn of Asheville, NC. This division plays a shorter course.

All players will begin at 8:30am in a shot-gun start.
This championship was started by the Women’s Carolinas Golf Association seven years ago to assist girls in getting acclimated to tournament golf. The Carolinas Golf Association assumed responsibility for this championship after the Women’s Carolinas Golf Association dissolved in July 2012. This is one of seven championships run specifically for girls by the Carolinas Golf Association annually.
