Match Play Set at Carolinas 4-Ball

CAMDEN, SC – Second round results of the 65th Carolinas Four-Ball Championship hosted by Camden Country Club in Camden, S.C. on Thursday, May 5, 2016 (6455 yards, par 35-35—70, 71.6/128).
Zachary Bishop of Travelers Rest, S.C. - Matt Carter of Easley, S.C. earned medalist honors with a two-day total seven-under par 133. They are seeded number one for the match play portion of the championship.
The cut line fell at one-over par 141. 34 teams reached that number so a 7-for-5 team playoff took place to decide the remaining seeds of the match play portion of the championship. The five teams who earned their spot via the playoff were Andrew Smith – Mark Hodges, Sammy Truett – Bert Atkinson, Travis Hall – Thomas Lee, Jr., Brett Parlier – Jesus Espina-Velosa and Cary Phillips – Ryan Reynolds.
Round of 32 matches begin at 8:00am off #1 and #10 tees at Camden Country Club on Friday morning.
A handful of former champions advanced to match play: three-time champion Bert Atkinson-Sammy Truett (2001, 02, 05), Robert Dargan-David Dargan (2006), Paul Tucker-Brent Roof (2013), Matthew Crenshaw (2012, 14) playing with new partner Banks Wood, Jr., and Blair Bowland (2012) playing with new partner Dustin Moore.

The Carolinas Four-Ball Championship is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 13th birthday by the first day of the championship, is a resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club.
