Right out of the gate, Gracyn Burgess of Lexington, S.C. got off to a quick start. Starting on the back nine, Burgess birdied her first two holes, eventually reaching four-under-par thru ten. Three bogeys on her inward eight holes puts her atop the leaderboard at one-under-par 71. After a T-52 finish last year, she is excited to be in first place. "It's just crazy being at the top, there's so many great girls here in the tournament," said Burgess.

Two players are tied for second at even par 72. Joining Burgess in tomorrow's final group will be first-time championship competitor Emily Cox of Lancaster, S.C. and Ashley Czarnecki of Greenville, S.C., who won last year's Cobbs Glen Junior also has had 13 top-10 finishes in the last 12 months.

A group of four players are two shots back at two-over par 73: 2014 Carolinas PGA Junior Girls' champion Victoria Huskey of Greenville, S.C.; Anna Redding of Concord, N.C. who has committed to play golf next year at the University of Virginia; two-time defending Jimmy Anderson Girls' champion Jennifer Chang of Cary, N.C.; and Jensen Castle of West Columbia, S.C., the 11th ranked junior girl in S.C.

Last year's Vicki DiSantis Girls' champion, Kelli Murphy of Elgin, S.C., is not eligible for this year's event as she is a freshman on the golf team at Auburn University.
