Three Teams Share NC Sr Four-Ball Lead
ASHEBORO, N.C. – First round results of the 15th North Carolina Senior Four-Ball Championship hosted by Pinewood Country Club in Asheboro, N.C. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 (6358 yards, par 36-36—72, 71.3/132).
Three teams sit atop the leaderboard after the first round at Pinewood Country Club. Robert Desjardins of Matthews - Bill Boles Jr. of Wilson, Keith Waters of Raleigh - Gary Robinson of Fayetteville and Rick Luzar of Pinehurst - Dean Channell of Cary each carded a seven-under 65 to share a one stroke lead.
Defending champions Mark Stephens of Troutman - Russ Perry of Winston-Salem posted a four-under 68 is in a tie for 13th place.
The average score in round one was 71.3 with most of the day played in fantastic weather conditions.
The championship is contested over 54-holes of four-ball stroke play. After Thursday’s round, the field of 69 teams will be cut to the low 30 scores and ties for the final round on Friday.

The North Carolina Senior Four-Ball Championship is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 55th birthday by August 12, is a resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)
The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.
Now in its 106th year, the CGA annually conducts 43 championships and five team match competitions for men, women, juniors, and seniors. The CGF has distributed more than $1,500,000 since 1977 to benefit Carolinas' golf initiatives including junior and women's programs.
