Bob Yow Wows in Round 1 of N.C. Super Senior Championship
WILMINGTON, NC – First round results of the 7th North Carolina Super Senior Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Cape Fear Country Club in Wilmington, N.C. on Monday, September 29, 2014 (6,100 yards, par 36-36—72, 69.9/127).
Bob Yow of Clinton, N.C. finished round one as the only player to shoot in the 60s with a four-under par 68. Yow had seven birdies to go along with three bogeys on the day. This is Yow’s first Super Senior Championship since he turned 65. Defending champion Rick Luzar of Pinehurst, N.C. posted an even-par round of 72 and is tied for 12th. 11 players finished the day in red numbers, and 17 players sit within four shots of Yow’s lead.

Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 65th birthday by September 29, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club that does not exceed 15.4.
The North Carolina Super Senior Amateur is one of 40 championships conducted annually by the Carolinas Golf Association, which is in its 105th year of serving amateur golf in the Carolinas.
