Oh Gauley! Brothers Win Second N.C. Four-Ball Title

RALEIGH, N.C. – Final round results of the 19th North Carolina Four-Ball Championship hosted by North Ridge Country Club (Lakes Course) in Raleigh, N.C. on Sunday, October 5, 2014 (6688 yards, par 36-36—72, 72.9/134).
Brian Gauley, 44, & Mark Gauley, 38, of Raleigh fired a final round 64 to win their second North Carolina Four-Ball Championship title with a final three day total of 21-under-par 195. The brothers won the 2006 championship when it was held at Foxfire Resort in Foxfire Village, N.C.
“We finally played well on the back nine”, Brian Gauley said. “All tournament long we played the front nine great but could not carry it over to the back nine until today.” Their back nine score of 31 which included two eagles on both par fives set them apart from the field.
Round two leaders Chris Cassetta, Winston-Salem & David Gies, II, Charlotte posted a final round 68 to finish in a tie for second place with Preston Edmondson, Morrisville & Eric Brady, Cary at 197 (-19). Edmondson & Brady carded a 65 to jump up the leaderboard.
The top 20 teams received merchandise and are exempt for the 2015 North Carolina Four-Ball Championship.

The North Carolina Four-Ball Championship is contested over 54 holes of four-ball stroke play. Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 13th birthday by October 3, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club.
This event is one of 40 championships conducted annually by the Carolinas Golf Association, which is in its 105th year of serving amateur golf in the Carolinas.
