Match Highlights
Following a years absence from Interclub competition due to course renovation, Rock Hill CC (Rock Hill, SC) completed the semi-finals bracket following their win over Tega Cay (Tega Cay, SC) on Saturday November 8. Rock Hill CC will now face The Creek (Charlotte, NC) next Saturday with the winner advancing to the Finals on November 22nd/23rd in Southern Pines. Rock Hill won this championship in 2008 at Bryan Park in Greensboro on the Champions course.
On Sunday (November 16) Maple Chase CC (Winston-Salem, NC) and Willow Springs CC (Wilson, NC) will battle for the other 2014 Finals spot. Willow Springs was runner-up in 2007 to Montgomery Country Club (Troy, NC) with the finals held on the Magnolia course at Pinewild CC in Pinehurst.
The Carolinas Interclub Finals are scheduled for Saturday, November 22 with Four-Ball matches contested on the Pine Needles and on Sunday, November 23 Singles played at Mid Pines. The 2014 Interclub Finals will be played November 22 & 23. Practice rounds are available on Friday (Nov 21).

North
Maple Chase CC, Winston Salem, NC (10.5) @ Pine Hollow GC, Clayton, NC (7.5)
Pine Hollow took an early lead in the match at Clayton when Ray Williford and Gene Hall teamed up for a 3 point win as the lead group. Anthony Siano and Tim Bowman rallied for Maple Chase with a 2 to 1 win in the next pairing to cut Pine Hollow's lead to 1 point. Then in the final group at Pine Hollow, The Slawter brothers (Mark & Sutton) gave up only 1/2 point to Keith Waters and Robert Bennett to pull into a tie at 4 1/2 points each. In the meantime, at Maple Chase in Winston-Salem and what started out as a duplicate result, Andrew Bundeff and Danny Kirkman put the home team out front early with a 3 point win. Pine Hollow's Steve Richard and Tommy Jeffries cut the deficit to 1/2 point over Scott Allen and Gam Bates. Then in the final pairing, Jeremy Ruddock and Chris Logan proved to be too much for Ben Collins and John Hryckowian as they won 2 1/2 of the remaining 3 points to send maple Chase to the semi-finals.
North East
Highland CC, Fayetteville, NC (7.5) @ Willow Springs CC, Wilson, NC (10.5)
October 26 In this regional final Willow Springs continued to prove hard to beat at home as they gave up only 1 individual point to the visitors from Fayetteville. Teams Ballard/Barnes and Garris/Clark led Willow Springs with 3 point wins each. Matt Hudson won his individual match to lead Highland CC. In Fayetteville, Doug English and Mike Williford led the home team with a 3 point win while teammates Thomas Owen and Will Warner added 2 1/2 points. Brent Landen and Tyler Brantley posted a 2 to 1 win to lead WSCC. Willow Springs CC will play the winner of the Maple Chase CC vs Pine Hollow GC match in the semi-finals bracket.
South
Creek GC, Charlotte, NC (11.5) @ Cabarrus CC #1, Concord, NC (6.5)
Charles Bennett (captain), Steve Cracovia, Jerry Braodway and Mike Refsnider won 3 1/2 individual points and all 3 four-ball match points to lead the Creek at home (6 1/2 to 2 1/2) in this match with Cabarrus CC #1. Tim Brandt, Mike Zerona and Todd Carte led Cabarrus with 2 1/2 individual match points. The Creek also won 5 to 4 at Cabarrus but details of those match results were unavailable at the time of this update. The Creek will face Rock Hill in other semifinal match.
South West
Rock Hill CC, Rock Hill, SC (11) @ Tega Cay GC, Tega Cay, SC (7)
In their quest to make it to the finals, Tega Cay made a good start on Saturday at Rock Hill when Dale Fandel and Brandon Fender in the first pairing won 2 matches and halved the other. Then, Rock Hill's Tracy Payne and John Turner responded with the same results to tie the score at 3 apiece. Steve Paul Smith posted a 71 in the final pairing for Rock Hill, and along with Richard Rebholz, won all three matches for a 6 to 3 win at home. Rock Hill took control early at Tega Cay as Ed Luczak and Gee Gee George won the first three matches. Teammates Bill Warren and Terry Durling added 2 more points in the middle group to secure the win for RHCC. John Cunningham and Austin Irvin posted a 73 and 75 respectively for Tega Cay in the final pairing to lead the home team with a 3 point win. Rock Hill advances to the semi-finals where they will face the undefeated Creek Golf Association. That match is scheduled for Saturday November 15.
