Wakefield Plantation wins 37th Carolinas Club Championship
GREENSBORO, NC – Final results of the 37th Club Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Sedgefield Country Club (Ross Course) in Greensboro, NC on Monday, April 28, 2014 (Men’s Yardage: 6647 yards, Par 35-36—71).
The team of Kevin Duerr and Paul Dickens of Raleigh, NC representing Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, NC posted a nine-under par 62 to win the championship by three strokes over Bryan Park Golf Club and Treyburn Country Club.
Defending champions The Club at 12 Oaks of Holly Springs, NC shot 68 and finished in a tie for 13th.
The Carolinas Club Championship is open to teams comprised of two amateurs (male or female) from the same CGA member club or a golf professional (male or female) and an amateur (male or female) from the same CGA member club.
Amateur winners receive golf shop credit at Sedgefield Country Club while golf professionals receive their winnings from the Carolinas PGA Section Office.
This championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association which is in its 105th year of serving amateur golf in the Carolinas.
