Southern Pines, N.C. (October 5, 2016) -- At 11 a.m., forecasters once again adjusted the forecast track of Hurricane Matthew to the east, meaning it will be farther from the coast as it moves by on Saturday night and Sunday morning. The Carolinas could be spared a direct hit from Hurricane Matthew if the forecast track issued Wednesday by the National Hurricane Center holds up.
