CGA Tournaments - Hurricane Matthew

Southern Pines, N.C. (October 5, 2016) -- At 11 a.m., forecasters once again adjusted the forecast track of Hurricane Matthew to the east, meaning it will be farther from the coast as it moves by on Saturday night and Sunday morning. The Carolinas could be spared a direct hit from Hurricane Matthew if the forecast track issued Wednesday by the National Hurricane Center holds up.

As a result of this forecast, upcoming CGA tournaments are as scheduled:

• October 8-9: TYGA State Championship, Keith Hills Golf Club, Buies Creek, N.C. (Postponed until November)
• October 9-10: The Reunion Pro-Am, Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, Southern Pines, N.C. (Postponed)
• October 10: U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Qualifier, Carolina Golf Club, Charlotte, N.C. 
• October 10-11: Carolinas Super Senior Four-Ball Championship, Rock Hill Country Club, Rock Hill, S.C.

 

There still could be impacts from the storm in the form of rain and wind. The CGA will continue to monitor the storm's track and update players of any changes to tournament schedules.
