WEST END, NC -- The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) is pleased to announce the hiring of William (Bill) D. Anderson as the CGA's staff agronomist beginning 2015. Anderson will become the third CGA agronomist since 1982 and follows turfgrass icons Carl Blake and Leon Lucas who have served the CGA for the previous 32 years. Lucas will be retiring at the end of 2014 after 16 years of service.

CHAPEL HILL, NC – Final results from U.S. Open Championship local qualifying hosted by Governors Club (Lakes/Foothills Course) in Chapel Hill, NC on Friday, May 16, 2014 (7005 yards, par 36-36—72, Rating: 74.5/142).  This qualifier was postponed Thursday, May 15 due to weather and resumed Friday morning at 9:00am.

1:45pm Update:  Play is still suspended due to lightning.  We are waiting on line of storms to pass and "all clear" from lightning detection equipment.

3:30pm Update:  Play has been suspended for the day at 3:30pm due to flooding on golf course.  All play will resume Friday morning, May 16 at 9:00am.  Tee times not yet started will begin at 9:00am and go until 10:30am.
