Read Post »KIAWAH ISLAND, SC - Yesterday's suspended second round of the Carolinas Amateur Championship continued this morning beginning at 8:00am. Light rain fell during the first hour of play but clearing skies may bring better weather conditions for the upcoming third round Saturday afternoon.
First round leader Zach Seabolt of Raleigh, NC carded a 1-under par 71 to take over as the tournament leader after 2 complete rounds. His two day total of 141 places him one stroke ahead of Taylor Dickson, Gastonia, NC who had the l...
Read Post »Lancaster, SC—Cayla Smith of Easley, SC had to go extra holes, but was up to the challenge and captured the SC Junior Girls’ Match Play Championship defeating Annika Bovender of Mt. Pleasant, SC on the 20th hole. Bovender, a rising high school junior, took an early lead in championship match, but Smith birdied five out six holes to take a three up lead through number 11. The match stay tied through fifteen when Bovender battled back and won the last three holes to send the match into extra holes. Smith then secured the j...

defeated Jake Carter of Easley, SC, 3 & 2 in the championship match. Cauthen and Carter’s made the turn all square in the final match, but then Cauthen won four of the next six to win his first CGA championship.
This annual junior championship was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
