Coming into the championship with 20 out of the top-25 ranked Carolinas Senior Men in the field, a stacked leaderboard and high-level competition was expected. A four-way-tie for the lead with 6-under-par, 66 opening rounds is exceptional.

Tim Teaster of Cayce, S.C. and Rich Weston of Pawleys Island, S.C., Richard Rebholz Rock Hill, S.C. and Thomas Eberhard of Johns Island, S.C., Bob Edens and Joseph Horne of Columbia, S.C., and Gary Robinson of Fayetteville, N.C. and Preston Edmondson of Morrisville, N.C. sit atop the leaderboard in first position heading into the second round. With a combined 26 birdies and a mere two bogeys across their four scorecards, these sides will have to capitalize on all of their looks tomorrow to create some distance for the final round.

Stan Sill of Spartanburg, S.C. and Jeff Stephens of Ware Shoals, S.C. hold solo fifth position, just one stroke off the leaders at 5-under-par, 67. Paul Spadafora and Keith Kepley of Charlotte, N.C. carded 4-under-par, 68 to claim sixth position. Ten sides are tied for seventh at 3-under-par, 69 and still well within striking distance of the lead.

The second round will begin tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. with starting times until 2:09 p.m. After the second round, the field will be cut to low 30 scores and ties for the final round on Thursday. Stay tuned to our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for live coverage of the second and final round.
