ANSWERS:
>> I don’t have a GHIN number/Handicap Index. How do I sign up for a tournament?
All members of the CGA have a GHIN number, so if you are a member of a CGA member club (including Carolinas eClubs) you have a GHIN number (even if you don’t know it!). If you are not a member of a CGA member club, you must establish a GHIN number in order to play in a women’s tournament. It’s much easier than it sounds! For all membership information, click here or call the CGA office (910-673-1000).
>> Is there a Handicap Index requirement to compete in women’s championships?
There are no restrictions on Handicap Index to compete in women’s championships. All who have a valid GHIN number at a CGA member club are welcome to compete, regardless of Handicap Index.

I’m not sure I’m ready to play in a championship. Are there any other CGA women’s tournaments to play in?
Absolutely! But first, check out our CGA Championship Quick Facts and see if we have a championship that is right for you. There are many ladies-only one-day events, all of which are four-ball (better ball) competitions so you can play with a partner. These are flighted by team Handicap Index and prizes will be given to gross and net winners in each flight. See the Ladies’ Four-Ball Play Days Schedule . Women are also eligible to compete in CGA One-Day Tournaments. See the full CGA One-Day Tournament schedule .
Players competing in the Carolinas division will play from a shorter yardage than those competing in the Championship division. Flights will be determined in both divisions (for most championships) based on specifications in individual entry forms. Players in the Carolinas division will receive prizes based on their finish. For more specific information about divisions and yardages, see the CGA Championships Quick Facts.
>> How old do I have to be to compete in senior women’s championships?
50 years of age as of the first round of the championship.
Senior players can compete in a senior division in the North Carolina Senior Women’s Amateur (NC residents only), the Carolinas Senior Women’s Championship, and the Carolinas Women’s Four-Ball Championship. Senior and Super Senior champions are also named in the Carolinas Women's Amateur Championship. Additionally, senior players are eligible to compete in any other women’s championship, but there will not be a designated senior division. For more specific information, see the CGA Championship Quick Facts or visit individual championship websites.
>> What will the approximate yardage be in women's championships?
Yardage will vary based on the championship, division, and age of participants. For a quick look at approximate yardages, visit the CGA Championships Quick Facts . Approximate yardages will also be posted in the player letters for each tournament that can be found on individual championship websites.
