Record Clubs Enter CGA Interclub
SOUTHERN PINES, NC -- The 2015 Interclub group/pod assignments have been finalized (see below). A record number of 79 teams are competing this year. That is an increase of 13 teams over last year and 29 from 2013.
The Carolinas Interclub features member clubs from the Carolinas competing amongst neighboring clubs in individual and four-ball net competition. It is a team competition that uses each player's twelve month Low Handicap Index to create an even playing field. 12 person teams play concurrent singles and four-ball match play formats in each match. Points are awarded for each match and the team earning the most points wins the overall match. The Carolinas Interclub is a service of the Carolinas Golf Association and is open to any male member of a CGA member club in both North and South Carolina. Any of the 700+ CGA member clubs are eligible to enter.
For this season, there are sixteen 4-team Pods, two 6-team Pods and one 3-team Pod. All teams will play home and away matches with the other teams within their Pod. (Note; Each 6 team Pod is split into two Divisions. Teams will play Home and Away matches within their Division and against one other pre-assigned team from the other Division within their Pod.) Therefore, each team in a 4-team and 6-team Pod will play six regular season matches. The 3 team Pod will play a total of four regular season matches.

The regular season is officially underway. A minimum of 40 teams will earn a spot in a single elimination playoff process. Playoffs will begin the last week of August culminating with the "Final-Four" teams competing for the Championship at Grandover Resort (East course) in Greensboro, NC on November 14 & 15. The semi-finals will be played Saturday with the finals on Sunday.
