First Round Results of the NC Senior Four-Ball Championship
GREENVILLE, NC – First round results of the 14th North Carolina Senior Four-Ball Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Greenville Country Club in Greenville, NC on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. (Par 35-36—71, 6,200 yards, Rating: 70.1/128).
Preston Edmondson from Morrisville, N.C. and Steve Sharpe from Greensboro, N.C. put together seven birdies and one eagle en route to carding a nine-under par 62. Defending champions Paul Simson and Don Detweiler carded five birdies to shoot five-under par 66. 26 teams finished the day under par, and nine teams are within 4 shots of the lead. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 30 teams and ties for Thursday’s final round.
The North Carolina Senior Four-Ball Championship is a 54-hole four-ball stroke play event open to any male amateur golfer in North Carolina over the age of 55.
