Dole Shoots 69 to Earn Medalist Honors

Evelyn Dole of Raleigh, NC fired a 3-under par 69 to earn medalist honors in the stroke play qualifying portion of the championship. Dole, 18 who will attend University of Virginia in the fall, carded six birdies and three bogeys. “I hit my irons pretty good today,” Dole said. “I usually always had a chance at birdie.” Dole will be seeded #2 for match play.
The cut line fell at 88 and Caroline Cahill of Wilmington, NC earned the last qualifying spot on the second playoff hole. Cahill will face off against the defending champion, Isabella Rusher of Salisbury, NC.
Matches will begin at 8:00am off the #1 tee on Wednesday.
