Congratulations to Jeff Jamieson of Cary, N.C. + Sherrill Britt of West End, N.C. on taking home the win for the 23rd North Carolina Senior Four-Ball Championship. The duo carded rounds of 67-66-65 for a three-day total of 198, 15-under, to secure the title.
In Round 1 on Monday, Jamieson + Britt finished with a bogey-free scorecard. They carded two birdies on the front nine, and two birdies on the back nine, playing a consistent round and coming in with a 67, 4-under.
After Round 1, Chris Holland + Gary Robinson of Fayatteville, N.C. took the lead, shooting a 66, 5-under for the day. Jamieson + Britt sat one stroke back at 4-under along with Steve Kidd of Liberty, N.C. + Samuel Ring of Carthage, N.C.
In Round 2, Jamieson + Britt went bogey-free again, finishing 36 holes without a score higher than a par. The duo birdied three holes in a row, 5, 6, and 7, to boost their momentum during the competition. They carded two birdies on the back nine to record another red score, 66, for the day to come to a total score of 9-under.
This put Jamieson + Britt tied for first place with Holland + Robinson as they headed into the Final Round on Wednesday.
In the Final Round, multiple teams were battling it out until the very end to determine which partnership would go home victorious. Jamieson + Britt added five birdies to their scorecard, along with an impressive eagle on the par-5 18th hole to shoot their lowest round of the tournament, 65, finishing at 15-under for the championship and securing the title by one stroke.
David Glabicki of Cary, N.C. + Macon Moye of Southern Pines, N.C. finished in second place at 14-under, 199, and as a team they recorded 14 birdies and two eagles throughout the three rounds. Holland + Robinson finished in third place at 13-under, 200.
