This Jack Nicklaus-designed course will challenge golfers of all skill levels. Water comes into play on several holes, challenging the more skillful player with a Nicklaus-style "go for broke" shot while at the same time, offering the more risk-averse player a bail-out area. The course is a scenic beauty as well, with undulating fairways and indigenous wetland vegetation framing several holes. This will be the second time that The Club at 12 Oaks hosts the North Carolina Four-Ball Championship, as they hosted this event in 2018 as well.

Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 13th birthday by October 1, 2021, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club.

The championship format is 54 holes of four-ball stroke play. Gross scores only. After 36 holes, the field is cut to the low 30 scorers and ties. A tie for the overall championship is decided by an on-course playoff.
