Pinewild CC to host 6th Carolinas Young Amateur
An anticipated field of 108 golfers (36 women and 72 men) will compete on the Gene Hamm designed Magnolia course that opened for play in 1989 and has hosted numerous CGA championships, including the 1991 Carolinas Amateur and the Carolinas Young Amateur in 2009, 2011 and 2012.

FORMAT
The championship format is 36 holes of stroke play in 2 divisions (men’s and women’s).
ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to any male or female amateur golfers ages 18 to 24 who have finished high school, is a legal resident of North or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has a current USGA handicap index at a CGA member club.
REGISTRATION
Tournament registration is open from November 11, 2013 until December 18, 2013. Contestants are accepted on a first come first serve basis. Women’s division is open to the first 36 and the men’s division is open to the first 72 that register. Contestants may register on-line or by mail.

Monday, December 30, 2013 First round of stroke play (18 holes) with starting times beginning at 11:00 am.
Tuesday, December 31, 2013 Final round of stroke play (18 holes) with starting times beginning at 11:00 am.
PRIZES
Champions receives a trophy and merchandise certificate. An on-course playoff is used to break a tie for the overall champions. Merchandise certificates will be awarded to the top 1/4 finishers in each division.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Originally designed by Gene Hamm, the 18-Hole, par 72 Magnolia Course opened to rave reviews in 1989, and within two months was ranked as one of the top 50 courses in the entire southeastern United States by Golf Week. The Magnolia has seen a complete multi-million dollar redesign, to include new greens complexes with Crenshaw Bent Grass, bunkers and cart paths. The result is a truly fantastic lay-out with emphasis on risk-reward golf.
