Both Match Play Brackets of the 2021 South Carolina Junior Match Play are set, with Hannah Altman of Lake City, S.C. taking home medalist in the Girls’ Division. The Boys’ Division provided a little more drama in the Stroke Play Qualifying portion of this event, as there was a four-way tie for medalist at the end of qualifying.
Trey Cauthen of Simpsonville, S.C., Simon Wright of Lancaster, S.C., Zach Adams of Charleston, S.C., and Luke Block of Bluffton, S.C., all finished atop the leaderboard at 2-under-par heading into the Round of 64.
Jay Wilkins of Simpsonville, S.C., and Mitchell McNeill of North Augusta, S.C., finished in a tie for fifth, at 1-under-par.
Rounding out the top five finishers in the Girls’ Bracket, Skye Two Hawks Skenandore of Aiken, S.C. finished in solo second at 3-over-par, Raegan Propes of Charleston, S.C. finished in third at 4-over-par, Madison Dixon of Boiling Springs, S.C. came in at fourth place finishing at 5-over-par, while Maddie Peake of Pauline, S.C. rounds out the top five in solo fifth, shooting 6-over-par.
While there was no need for a playoff on the Girls’ side, the Boys’ division would provide some late entertainment, with a 5 for 1 playoff for the 64th and final spot in the Match Play bracket. Tag Graziano of Hilton Head, S.C., and Erik Zeppelin of Fort Mill, S.C, both would roll in clutch birdie putts on the first playoff hole, the Par-4 opener at Lancaster GC. Graziano would then make a gritty par save on the Par-5 second to just edge out Zeppelin and book his ticket to Match Play.
Both the Boys’ and Girls’ Divisions will be seeded based on their scores in today’s Stroke Play Qualifying and the Boys’ Round of 64 and Girls’ Round of 16 matches will be decided based on those seeds.

Lancaster Golf Club is located right on the outskirts of the town of Lancaster. The original nine holes were designed by Donald Ross in 1939, and feature a more open setup. Russell Breeden’s work on the back nine to finish the course is highlighted by tree lined fairways, giving a different look and challenge to players of all levels.
The championship format is match play with 18 holes of stroke play qualifying to determine the seeding for match play. The top 64 boys and the top 16 girls from the stroke play qualifier will advance to match play. Once a player loses a match, they are eliminated from the tournament.
Entry is open to any male or female amateur golfer who has not reached their 19th birthday as of July 10, who has not started college, is a legal resident of South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has a current USGA Handicap Index® that does not exceed 18.4.
