Alexia Siehl of Fort Mill, S.C. carded an even-par, 72 to finish atop the leaderboard of the 53rd Twin States Junior Girls’ Championship at Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe, N.C
“I am feeling good,” said Siehl. “I had a birdie on the third hole and then I held par on the rest until the last hole.”
Siehl finished in the Top 15 at last year’s championship and she is in search of her first CGA victory. She is feeling confident heading into the final round tomorrow, “I am feeling good. I have set myself in a good position so I am excited for tomorrow.”
Maria Atwood of Holly Springs, N.C. is currently one stroke behind Siehl after a first round of 1-over-par, 73. Atwood kept her scorecard busy today with four birdies, three bogeys and one double-bogey.
