U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Qualifying Results
from
Pinewood Country Club in Asheboro, N.C.


ASHEBORO, N.C. (August 25, 2018) -- Final results from U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Qualifying at Pinewood Country Club in Asheboro, N.C. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 (6038 yards, par 36-36--72, Course/Slope rating: 76.0/138).

Caroline Ellington of Raleigh, N.C. carded a two-over-par 74 to claim medalist honors in the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Qualifier hosted by Pinewood Country Club. Ellington made the turn at even-par and finished strong on the inward nine to claim medalist honors by two strokes. All five qualifiers at this qualifying site are from North Carolina. Also advancing to the championship in St. Louis are Katie Kirk of Winterville, N.C., Julie Streng of Greensboro, N.C., Courtney Stiles of Sanford, N.C., and Michelle Jarman of Wilmington, N.C.

Susan Beaupied of Pittsboro, N.C. is the first alternate. Mimi Hoffman of Alexandria, V.A. is the second alternate.

Five qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.

Sectional qualifying is conducted over 18 holes at 29 locations in the United States and Mexico. The championship proper will be held at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis, M.O. on September 22-27, 2018.

This qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers.
