KINSTON, NC (July 19, 2018) – Casey Osiecki of New Bern, NC fired a second round 71 to finish at 1 under 141 to win the TYGA Roy Jones Junior Championship hosted by Kinston Country Club in Kinston, NC (6,373 Yards, Par 36-35—71, 71.0/135). Megan Kanaby of Chapel Hill, NC birdied her 18th hole of the day to win the Girls’ Championship by one shot over Jayla Rogers of Wilmington, NC (5,328 Yards, Par 36-35—71, 66.1/120).
Osiecki held off Pierce Robinson of Kings Mountain who finished one back at 142, and a trio of players at 143. James Carlin of Raleigh fired a second round 67 to take 3rd place ahead of Davis Fisher of Greenville and Matthew Chandler of Washington, NC. Playing in the final group after matching rounds of 74 on Wednesday, Kanaby and Rogers were tied with 4 holes to play. Rogers birdied her 15th and 16th holes of the day, but it was not enough as Kanaby’s birdie on the par 3 9th was the deciding factor.
