CGA Adds Two New Staff Members

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -- The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Sarah Bae as Tournament Manager and Chris Wolff as Junior Golf Manager. Bae will help coordinate and conduct junior girls' events, such as championships, USGA qualifiers and one-day tournaments, as well as help out with women's and men's championships. Wolff will oversee the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) as well as help administer and coordinate junior boys' championships and qualifiers.

Bae graduated from North Carolina State University in May with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies. Bae started her college golf career at High Point University, then transferred to NC State, where she was the captain of the Wolfpack women's golf team in her senior season. Sarah Bae is a six-time CGA champion (2010 Jimmy Anderson Girls' Champion; 2010 Dogwood State Girls' Champion; 2011 North Carolina Junior Girls' Champion; 2013, 2015, 2016 Carolinas Young Amateur Champion) and three-time North Carolina Junior Girls' Player of the Year (2010, 2011, 2012). Along with her illustrious playing career, Bae brings a tournament administration background from working with the Tarheel Youth Golf Foundation.

"Sarah is a hard-worker and passionate about golf in the Carolinas. She grew up playing in CGA events and has competed at the highest levels," stated Director of Women's Golf, Maggie Watts. "She has a lot of energy and will be a huge asset to the junior girls' programs at the CGA."

"I'm so excited to be starting with the CGA," stated Bae. "I think this will be a great experience for me and I'm looking forward to getting to know the junior girls and administering the tournaments I grew up playing in. This will be something new for me and I am ready for the challenge."

Chris Wolff joined the CGA staff after working with the Metropolitan Golf Association in New York. At the MGA, Wolff completed a PJ Boatwright internship before joining the Championship and GHIN services teams. Prior to starting a career in the golf industry, Wolff was a bond trader in New York City and worked on Wall Street for 10 years in fixed income sales and trading. Wolff grew up in Oak Hill, Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Pennsylvania State University in 2006.

"We're very fortunate to have someone with Chris' experience on the team," stated Director of Junior Golf and Tournament Operations, Jason Cox. "He has hit the ground running since starting at the CGA and his background in tournament administration will be a great asset to us."

"I'm really excited for this opportunity to join the team at the Carolinas Golf Association and work in such a golf-rich area," stated Wolff. "I'm looking forward to helping continue to grow opportunities for junior golfers in the Carolinas."

The Tournament Manager position is new at the CGA, and is the sixth full-time staff position in the tournament department. The Junior Golf Manager position replaces former Assistant Director of Junior Golf, Chase Liebler, who left the CGA in January. The CGA conducts over 300 events annually, including 48 championships, over 150 one-day events and over 30 USGA qualifiers.

Bae and Wolff have both begun their positions at the CGA.
