Cowan's Ford Country Club of Lake Norman, N.C. finished the day with a team total of 3-over-par 143 to claim medalist honors and the No. 1 seed in match play. The Cowan's Ford side of Peg Brady and Peggy Lea was the only side under par in round one, finishing with a 35-34--69. The top-four clubs from Tuesday's stroke play qualifying round advanced to the match play semifinals of the Carolinas Women's Club Team Championship to compete for the inaugural title. Semifinal four-ball matches are worth 18 points (one point per hole). At the end of each four-ball match, points from both two-player sides of the club team will be added together. The club team with the most points will advance to the final match on Thursday. The two losing clubs will be placed in a consolation flight.

The remaining three clubs, Rock Barn Golf & Spa A (168), Rock Barn Golf & Spa B (190) and Pinewood Country Club (193) were placed in the First Flight. The first flight will play a two-day round robin four-ball match play format. Each club team will play the other two club teams in 18-point four-ball matches. The club team with the most cumulative points after the final round will win the first flight.
